1d6 Magic Clubs, Hammers, and Maces

A sequel to my magic blades! There is little I love more than a good old-fashioned whacking stick. My favorite weapon in Dark Souls has always been the reinforced club. Of course, at least until I get the dragon tooth.

  1. A shaft running the length of the weapon contains a kaleidoscope. When looking through it and slowly rotating the weapon, it will see through any glamers or illusions upon a being, and reveals a shapeshifter's true form. The weapon rattles quietly with movement.

  2. Made of ash and inlaid with silver and iron. The weapon is a great tool of exorcism and is useful for ridding the innocent of unwanted passengers. It can be used to unerringly wallop a possessing spirit or parasite without risk of harming the host, and deals an extra die of damage to the stowaway.

  3. Tetsubo of the legendary warrior merchant prince, Dosh Zeni. Encrusted with gold teeth knocked from the mouths of his enemies. For every 20lbs of gold coins carried on your person, this weapon gains a +1 to hit/damage. Merely carrying it broadcasts one’s status as a high net worth individual.

  4. This mace has a perfectly smooth head fashioned from an unknown metal. Light seems to curl about it. When swung, those present feel a subtle pressure in their ears. The mace’s wielder can command it to suddenly increase in weight a hundredfold.

  5. A fine walking stick and shillelagh. So long as the bearer conducts themselves in a lawful and upstanding manner, the bearer and up to five of their closest companions travel half again as quickly on roads, and never get footsore. Bandits are likely to dismiss the bearer and company as harmless travelers not worth the trouble, expanding their neutral reaction range by 1 in either direction.

  6. A hammer with a tined head like tuning forks. When struck against stone or metal, the reverberations create a resonant tone that disrupts magical song, like a harpy’s. It can also induce spell failure, imposing a 3-in-6 spell failure chance to all those trying to speak the incantations correctly over the racket.
